DESWOS – the German housing industry supports people in developing countries

In selected areas of Africa, Asia and Latin America, the non-profit association, DESWOS, supports projects for the improvement of housing and living conditions. In conjunction with local partners, for example, a girls‘ school in Burma and a group of apartment houses for farmers in Ecuador were developed this way.

DESWOS - Deutsche Entwicklungshilfe für soziales Wohnungs- und Siedlungswesen e. V. – (German Development Assistance Association for Social Housing) was founded in 1969 and is supported by housing companies, cooperatives and organizations. The Nassauische Heimstätte / Wohnstadt Group supports the association through annual donations. The housing industry is the only branch of German industry that supports its own development assistance organization.
