Senior café in Wiesbaden-Klarenthal
In cooperation with the Klarenthal Education Agency and the city of Wiesbaden, the Social Management of Nassauische Heimstätte has created a meeting place for residents and neighbors in the NH senior housing estate, Graf-von-Galen-Straße 34-36. In addition to the 113 tenants of the senior housing development, the café is open to all residents of Klarenthal.
Ten volunteers of the 60-plus generation lovingly see to it that the guests feel that they are in good hands. The café is coordinated by an employee of the Klarenthal Education Agency. The offering of the senior and cultural cafés includes among other things English, French and memory courses, but also many other cultural events, such as dialect, literary and fairy tale evenings. In this way a place was developed where people (not just seniors or single people) can find stimulation and communication.
Nassauische Heimstätte provides the room free of charge and supports the ongoing operation with an annual subsidy. An immediate contact person is available for older tenants. He/she counsels, arranges third party services and helps you with the solution to your problems. Nassauische Heimstätte supports this project to stimulate citizen commitment and to reinforce the identification of the tenants with their living environment.
