Little Sweepers clean up
The clean-up campaign has been running in the Otto-Brenner housing estate in Frankfurt-Sossenheim since September 2007 and the "Little Sweepers" are welcome everywhere. After all, it simply looks better tidied up and the children as future tenants are already accepting responsibility for their residential area and environment.
The clean-up campaign of the Nassauische home is very popular – the attractive stamp booklet plays a large part in this: those who have taken part in the clean-up campaign six times and can show six stamps, receive a voucher for the cinema. The tenant, Sybille Genzmehr, serving in an honorary capacity, has already handed out 35 booklets to the 5- to 14-year old participants.
Every four to six weeks the "Little Sweepers" meet and set off enthusiastically to pick up what others carelessly drop – from lollipop wrappers to newspapers and cigarette ends including cans and all possible packaging waste.
In the meantime there are more little sweepers at the following locations:
- Hattersheim-Eddersheim, Neue Heimat
- Frankfurt-Eschersheim, Albert-Schweitzer-Siedlung
- Mörfelden-Walldorf, Albrecht-Dürer-Ring und Bamberger Straße
