Cooperation with CASA Centrum für aktivierende Stadtteilarbeit e.V. in Wiesbaden

In Wiesbaden, Nassauische Heimstätte became involved in the Rheingauviertel/Hollerborn district and especially in the Presberger Straße quarter. The population structure of the residential area in Presberger Straße in Wiesbaden is distinguished by above average social needs and therefore places increased demands on the the support of social institutions and services.

Nassauische Heimstätte financially supports the Verein CASA Centrum für aktivierende Stadtteilarbeit e.V. located in the district. In return, the employees of the Tenant Social Center counsel NH in social questions, intercede in conflicts and carry out tenant participation projects in cooperation with NH. An example of this is the staircase project of the Presberger Straße 4 housing community. There were requests from the tenants, as to if and when the staircase would be renovated. Social management and CASA were quickly agreed that a tenant participation project should be made from this, since the uppermost goal of all joint measures was and always is to improve the cohabitation of people in this quarter, to advance tenant activities and to strengthen initiative. And so the tenants were asked whether they had the desire to paint the staircase on their own – naturally with organizational, financial and technical support by Nassauische Heimstätte and an employee of the Social Center.

Since that time, the staircase walls painted by the tenants shine in two friendly apricot tones, the deep blue railing adds a robust accent and the floors were refurbished by one of the firms authorized by Nassauische Heimstätte. The people behind the sixteen apartment entrance doors of Presberger Straße 4 have come together a bit more and are still pleased with their inviting staircase.
