Modernization

The number of one-person households in Germany is climbing; at the same time, the per-head square meter need for living space is growing – an example of altered residential preferences. Individual requirements must increasingly be allowed for. Therefore, dwellings must be adapted to contemporary comfort in order to continue to remain attractive for tenants.

In the forefront, there currently are measures being taken for the increase of energy efficiency in buildings, re-fittings and upgrades in the multimedia area as well as additional extensions and modifications outdoors. The latter includes the subsequent addition of balconies and the creation and expansion of garden and leisure areas. In 2011 alone, the Nassauische Heimstätte/Wohnstadt Group carried out such measures for approximately 800 apartments in their own property holdings.
